Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, also called Ashanti, was born on October 13 1981 from Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Ashanti began her professional career as a teenager, and was then signed by Murder Inc. Records by 2002. The same year, she was featured on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? She was also featured on the song by Fat Joe, What's the Luv? The first female artist to take the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and the track What's Luv? in second position. at number 2. On the 16th October Hey Baby (After the Club) was released to radio and digital outlets. She portrayed Latasha as Latasha in Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City.
